Gypsy Shoot

Hello beauties!

Sorry for the late post today. We've been having problems with our internet since last week (and by problems I mean no internet at all) and I'm bringing you this post via incredibly shaky, age old 3G. So don't say I didn't try!! :P

Over the weekend, my cousin Tanja and I had some fun with this gypsy inspired shoot. The wardrobe was an assembly of stuff from both our closets, the wig is a really cool one I got at China Mall, the jewellery is an assortment from my personal stash and I did the makeup and took the photos too. Of course, my cousin had to bring the props and figure out the poses. I had a bright idea or two, but most of it was hers. :) It's really cool that she had the flute and other stuff just waiting to be photographed.

We went to a park near my house for the photos (some were taken in my backyard!!), and we were graced with some awesome weather for photography. Afterwards, I did the editing and this is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun with the shoot, in spite of feeling horrible (due to a cold). Thanks cuz, you were awesome!! And I'm looking forward to the punk shoot I have coming up, with Lizanne. It's going to be friggen amazing!!! :)

I may or may not post again this week, depending on how the internet comes on. If it's repaired, I'll definitely blog again, but if it doesn't, hopefully I'll be back next week. Watch this space.

I've been working really hard on my second novel. I'm just waiting for feedback from one or two of the proofreaders, but the edit is otherwise complete. Now I just need to finish the cover and write my acknowledgements. If all goes well, you'll be able to download it soon. Once again, watch this space.

Have a fantastic week!!

March Favourites

Hello Beauties!

Since it's the last Friday of the month, I'll be sharing my monthly favourites with you. Let's get right to it.

My song of the month is an old one, Heaven by Live. I've always loved this song, but recently it's become even more amazing and true to me. Listen to the lyrics and you'll see why. :)

And then, in no particular order, my favourites. All of these can be found on my Pinterest boards, except if stated otherwise.

My favourite beauty looks of the month are these ones. I've been doing a lot of research into fantasy makeup, which brought me to face painting. I really hope to do something similar one day! These are amazing!! The last of the four is a more wearable look.

I've also been looking into a whole lot of photography poses and ideas, which is how I found these images. Man, oh man, I love them. The colour and composition in the first two, while the unusual angle of the last one makes it my favourite.

Photography also brings me to baby photography ideas. :)

This is my favourite picture of the month. I took a series of pics with my phone and used Pixlr express (a pretty cool free app) to create the collage.

My product of the month is Essence Express Dry Spray for nail varnish. I bought mine at R34.95 from Dischem, and I LOVE IT!! It really does dry the nails much quicker than the air would, and leaves them less smudgible (yes, I just made up that word) a lot sooner. Sure, I still wrecked my nails a time or two, but the damage would have been much more profound if it hadn't been for the spray. What? I'm impatient by nature!! :)

Funnies for the month :

Craft and food ideas :

I absolutely love this steampunk butterfly headpiece. This is friggen awesome!!! I wants me one!! In face, I like this whole picture. It's really cool!

Above is one of the most amazing quotes I've read in a long time. I've added it here because of its beauty and the truth around it too. The same thing can be said for fathers, siblings and grandparents.

The following image is called Designer Skyline, by LOYproject on DeviantArt. Epic.

My series of the month is The Blacklist, with James Spader. It's a pretty involved series, but I adore it. If you like crime drama with a twist, a lot of intrigue and surprises along the way, this is the one for you.

I don't have a movie or a book of the month, because we haven't watched a single movie (sad, I know), and I've been editing my own novel. Which, by the way, is going to be finished way ahead of schedule, because of an incredibly brilliant editor. Watch this space.

And that's all I have for you this week. Tune in again on Monday for another blog post! Have a fabulous weekend!!
